A study of the formation, transmission, and translation of the Bible. This course provides students with a foundational understanding of the formation of the biblical text and demonstrates it reliability for theological, spiritual, moral, and ministerial formation. This course presents an overview of the transmission of the biblical text and the process of canonization, introduces textual criticism, provides a brief history of the Bible from the Latin Vulgate to the major English translations, and examines various approaches to translation theory.Three semester hours credit.
